Talks

We would be delighted to talk to your school, organisation or group of friends.

For details of individual talks please see our menu on the left.  Sadly we can't mix and match talks or create new talks for your specific requirements.

To help answer your questions please see our FAQs below, but if you still have more questions please do not hesitate to e-mail us at contact@doingtheirbit.co.uk.

How to I book a talk?

Please e-mail contact@doingtheirbit.co.uk with your request.  It is useful to know if you have a particular day, date or month in mind.

How long are the talks?

All of our talks are 1 hour long.  You may want to consider allowing extra time at the end of the talk for questions (or a lot of time for inquisitive children with lots of questions). We ask that you allow a little time before Zoom talks to make sure the technology is working and everyone is settled before the start.

Do you do face to face or Zoom Talks?

Yes, we do both.  If you are within a 20 mile radius of Abingdon, Oxfordshire we are happy to come to you and will bring a small display of original memorabilia (further distances can be discussed).  We do Zoom talks to anywhere worldwide.

What platform do you use?

We have our own Zoom license.  Sorry but we cannot accommodate other platforms.  We have tried Microsoft Teams but it does not work with the way our talks are set up.

How much do you charge?

Our talks are free.  If you have enjoyed the talk then a small donation would be appreciated towards travel (for face to face talks), expenses and future research, but we understand in these difficult times this may not be possible.

How do I make a donation?

Donations may be made using any of the following:

1. PayPal (friends and family) to bret@wilesfamily.co.uk

2. Bank Transfer:  HSBC

                           Mr B N Wiles
                           Sort Code 40-47-07
                           Account Number 31559990

3. By cheque to Mr B Wiles, 85 Church Road, Long Hanborough, Witney, Oxfordshire OX29 8JF

Can I record or copy a talk?

No, sorry but our talks are covered under copyright and many of the original photos we use are covered under license.
